The 9x6x3″ Sugarcane Clamshell Box is an eco-friendly food box made from reclaimed and rapidly renewable sugarcane fibers. These renewable and compostable clamshells are a great alternative to traditional petroleum-derived plastics or foam. The box is sturdy and versatile, making it suitable for a wide variety of hot, wet, and oily foods. It can also be used in cold cabinets and microwaves, resisting water temperatures of up to 100°C and oil temperatures of up to 150°C.
The sugarcane used to make these boxes is a reclaimed resource that would otherwise have been burned. They are compostable in commercial compost facilities, which is a great way to improve vital soil resources and divert waste from landfills. However, they are not compostable in home compost.
